Our adventures begin here, away from crowds, exploring quiet streams and backcountry areas deep into the island—places few visitors ever see. Trips are intentionally limited in size and guided by locals who know the land, the water, and the natural rhythm of this place.
Chichagof Island is part of Alaska’s ABC Islands—Admiralty, Baranof, and Chichagof—a remote region known for one of the highest concentrations of coastal brown bears in the world.

MEET CAPTAIN REMO
Captain David “Remo” Riemenschneider has over 30 years of fishing, hunting and outdoor adventure experience. Remo was born to fish and the only thing that he enjoys more now, is sharing this passion and experience of the outdoor world with others.
He grew up in the small town of Cuero in South Texas fishing the regions lakes, rivers and the bays of the Gulf of Mexico. Remo’s had his Captain’s License, Master 100 Ton, since 2011 and has been taking people on fishing and hunting excursions since he was 16 years old. He’s spent summers as a sport fishing, hunting and adventure tour guide in different areas of SE Alaska since 2017 and finally founded Edgewater Outfitter’s in 2022 in beautiful Hoonah.
At Edgewater Outfitter’s every stranger is a friend and even on the slowest days while guiding, Remo works hard to ensure his clients have the trip of a lifetime.

WHAT SPECIES WILL YOU BE FISHING FOR?
Southeast Alaska boasts one of the richest salmon fisheries in the world. Edgewater Outfitter’s guides our clients to streams and rivers that contain large populations of silver, pink and chum salmon, as well as dolly varden and cutthroat trout.
Edgewater Outfitter’s is committed to extensive conservation efforts and supports catch and release practices to ensure these fisheries survival for generations to come.
